While the amount you should feed your dog can vary a little with the preprepared food offered by different brands, there is a generally accepted amount you should feed adult dogs which is between 2.0% and 3.0% of their body weight per day.
Most people will aim for the middle amount of 2.5% and adjust depending on whether they think their dog needs to lose or gain a little weight. Use the table below to work out how much your dog needs per day.
(Please note for puppies aged 8 weeks - 12 months feed 2.5% of their expected adult weight, NOT their current weight. So for example an 8 week old Labrador should be eating 875g per day as the estimated adult weight is around 35kg)
For adult dogs split their daily allowance of food into two meals.
Puppies aged 8 weeks - 6 months split their daily allowance of food into four meals.
Puppies aged 6 months - 12 months split their daily allowance of food into three meals.
